Some of us gauge our success on things that we have achieved and sometimes we are unaware that we are putting our life's security on it. We think that as long as we have attained our degree, our career or dreams, we are secured of our future. Or maybe you are thinking that as long as I have my friends and family I can face this world that is full of challenges. But what if they are suddenly gone? What would you do if the reason that you're living and hopeful is gone? What are you going to do if you have lost our sense of security?
The reality is we are living in the world where everything can change in a glimpse. And the only thing that is constant in this world is change so we can never put our faith on things that will fade soon or else we are doomed. But how are we going to live in a world that is full of uncertainty? The answer is to live by faith -- meaning we should stop relying on our own ability and achievements but we should rely on God who is unchanging. It is written Hebrews 13:8, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever." So we know that only God has the power over the things that are happening in our life today and even in our future. We maybe unfaithful but we can always count on Him because our God is a faithful God.
Let us simply base our security in God and in His promises because He is the creator of all things and He has the power over all of His creations.
